For those of you who have not already heard the news; Allen was diagnosed with having a malignant brain tumor. When any signs of the tumor first were discovered, Lit cancelled European tour dates, but we optimistic about resuming the tours and life as usual. Unfortunately, it was later revealed that the situation was worse than expected.
Allen is currently getting the best treatment that he can, and is fighting his battle with cancer very well. Still, his friends and family ask for thier support. If you are the type to do so, you can send your prayers and thoughts toward Allen and his friends and family in their time of need. If you would like to leave comments, you can do at Lit's myspace blog, announcing the news. You can also find out a little more about Allen and his situation there too.

Allen was briefly interviewed for ABC's World News Tonight on the subject.

Air Guitar Tour [Feb. 1st, 2006|02:46 pm]

hey rockers in the Orlando area. This Thursday night, the 2nd, at 8pm, if you got nothing better to do come check out the Air Guitar World '06 Collegiate Tour. It's a competition that's part of the Air Guitar Championship, and it's sponsored by Schick Quattro Power and Rolling Stone magazine. I'm not kidding, this is real.
Why does this concern you? Because I'm gonna perform and not only should your support your fellow Lit fans, but I'm gonna rock out to Lit's rendition of "I Wanna Rock"! (If not that then probably "Over My Head") So I would love if a bunch of people started getting excited when they heard those chords being struck... in the air. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun and there will probably be give-aways too, so come check it out.
Rock On!
-Kevin Allen (yes, that is my real name)

[the following was taken from a Handsome Devil bulletin]

This past weekend, A.J and Jeremy of Lit lost their stepfather in a motorcycle accident when the motorcycle he was riding along with their mother was hit by a drunk driver. Their mother is in extremely critical condition with massive multiple injuries.

Please show your love for our boys by going to http://www.litlounge.com/memorial.html and leaving them a message of support.

A memorial fund has also been established:

[lullaby |"Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd]

I saw Lit in concert in November 2004. It was the first time I got to see them perform, but I've been a big fan for about seven years now. Here's some pictures that my brother took. We were on the side of the stage, so unfortunately, we didnt get any pictures of the amazing Allen Shellenberger, but here's some of the rest of the guys.
